Oh, it's actually maintained by Artix devs, cool !

Regarding outdated packages that might be a concern, I only noticed tor-browser being behind, but as the process is manual, and building browsers is way slow, then it might be that's the way it is...

BTW, freetube is something I also build from AUR, and it's nice it's there (no more building).

And as far as adding universe to pacman.conf, it seems it worked:

However it looks like several mirrors don't include it unfortunately, :(
