I believe this is an upstream bug, but also to show we really need to get ** 1.2.5.1 ** alsa packages as soon as they become released... See: > % sudo alsactl store > % > % sudo alsactl restore > alsa-lib ucm_subs.c:252:(rval_lookup_main) Lookups are supported in v4+ syntax > alsa-lib parser.c:242:(error_node) UCM is not supported for this HDA model (HDA Intel PCH at 0xe0730000 irq 36) > alsa-lib main.c:1402:(snd_use_case_mgr_open) error: failed to import hw:0 use case configuration -6 > % By searching for those errors, I found [1] and [2], where [2] suggests getting ** 1.2.5.1 ** as soon as released. I don't see the 1st error mentioned on those references, but I guess they might still be related, since I wasn't seeing those alsa-lib errors before: > alsa-lib ucm_subs.c:252:(rval_lookup_main) Lookups are supported in v4+ syntax If there are settings I'm missing any ways, that get reflected in those failures, please let me know, so I set them. However, to my knowledge it's about upgraded ASAP... That's still 1.2.5, not 1.2.5.1, and it's the one I do have, and still through those error, :( > % pacman -Qs alsa-utils > local/alsa-utils 1.2.5-2 I'm not sure if 1.2.5-2 is already patched with those fixes meant to be release on 1.2.5.1, but if it's, then they're not working I'd guess, :( I hope they don't, so I can keep hopefully waiting for 1.2.5.1, :) Thanks ! -- Javier -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Nah, -2 has patches for pipeware but nothing about this particular thing.I do actually get a "alsa-lib main.c:1402: (snd_use_case_mgr_open) error: failed to import hw:0 use case configuration -2 " message myself, but I didn't notice any errors or anything different about my alsa configuration. It's nice to know that the next alsa-lib release is supposed to make this go away though. I don't know what's up with your system but it seems to indicate that you have version 12 locally installed (which is the current version) but that the world repo somehow has 11.1.0 (this is quite outdated). Update your system and possibly check your mirrors.
