BTW, I can't recall if I altered it or not, but there has been at least one upgrade of dhcpcd-s6 in the past, and those upgrades hadn't left any *.pacnew or *.pacsave on /etc... So it should be a stock vanilla daemon, or pretty similar. For those using dhcpcd stand alone to get connected, how are your daemons calling dhcpd?

I use openrc, on which I rc-updated dhcpcd, so it is called at bootup.
I use dhcpcd without a gui interface. Dhcpcd is called at bootup using the
stock artix /etc/init.d/dhcpcd file and my edited /etc/dhcpcd.conf. I know it
doen't help much, but it is working here.
